Ledbetter Dissertation Needs Your Help
Kary Ledbetter a 30 year foster parent and member of the NFPA Member Services Committee has been working on her doctoral in educational leadership with the goal of helping foster children through education. Ms. Ledbetter needs to interview foster parents with foster children attending public schools in grades 1 – 12 to learn about their experiences and perceptions. University of Phoenix & NFPA - Partners in Education
The University of Phoenix has offered 50 scholarships to alumnus of foster care and foster parent the opportunity to earn a college degree under the banner of the University's First Chance Scholarship program. This degree program is for a Bachelor's or Master"s Degree. The NFPA has now partnered with the Foster Care Alumni of America to offer these scholarships nationwide. We are currently reviewing applications and will announce the successful recipients by the end of August, 2010. Another round of scholarships will be awarded later in the year.
