Areas of Expertise

Education

Jackie was a licensed teacher and taught school for 25 years. Education was her first love. She understands teachers and the frustration they feel trying to teach traumatized kids.

Her four adult children have Attention Deficit Disorder. Jackie understands from personal experience, the struggles of parents and teachers attempting to help children succeed in school. Everyone wants the best for kids.

Foster Care

Jackie has been involved with foster children for 50 years. She understands how brain research in the past 10 years has completely changed methods of therapy and parenting for foster children. All children in foster care have been traumatized to some degree. That trauma has physically changed their brain. Foster parents can learn to literally heal that brain.

Trauma and Attachment and Bonding

Jackie has spent the past 20 years studying and treating attachment and bonding issues. Brain research has shown us that traditional methods of treatment do not work. Trauma has damaged their brain. Attachment disordered children used to be called angry. They are now called sad, scared and disregulated as a result of the research.
