Joyce Lewis is a retired Social Services Program Manager for the California State Department of Social Services, Vice President of the National Foster Parent Association (NFPA), Vice President of the Sacramento County Foster Parent Association and the legislative advisor to both the California Care Providers and Foster Parent Associations and brings twenty-five years of foster care experience to her work. She joined the NFPA as the Regional IX Advisor and Training Consultant in 1995. Her passion and undying commitment to the welfare of foster parents and their children makes her a valuable member of the foster care arena. Her work continues to focus on the development and implementation of strategies that institutionalize multicultural approaches, developing self esteem and self development, stress management, time and anger management, and the development of support groups and foster parent organizations. Joyce is an inspirational and motivational presenter who has provided training seminars for foster parents, kinship and out-of-home care providers in California , New Mexico , Louisiana , Mississippi , Nevada , Texas , Arizona , Colorado , Florida , Illinois and Bermuda .
