Nate Jensen and his wife Lori are
co-owners/founders of a private agency, Turning Point Family Services, Inc. in North Platte, NE.
Turning Point Family Services offers services to families in the foster care
system and families at risk to enhance and strengthen their ability to function
and achieve safe, healthy environments and healthy, satisfying relationships.
Nate and his wife began their careers in human services working for the
Salvation Army for 8 years as Program Directors for adolescent group homes.
Nate has developed and presented numerous workshops on subjects related to
children and families in the foster care system. Jensen presents his workshops
locally, in several states and at the national level. Nate is a PRIDE trainer
for the western region preparing foster parents for children and their
families. Nate wrote and published a children’s book Clickety Clack Gets Back
on Track, a book about a small duck that enters the foster care system. The
book was distributed to all foster homes in Nebraska in 2001 as a tool to help children
in care understand the process of reunification. Nate has enjoyed writing
published poetry and articles for Foster Families Today magazine as well as
various letters and articles to target audiences advocating for children and
families in the foster care system. Nate is actively involved in the
Child Abuse Prevention Council in his community and in 2006, Jensen was
instrumental in opening a Boys and Girls Club of America in North Platte and currently serves on the
board of directors.
